Jais
Noir
(Jen
Nwa) French for Black Jet
Jais Noir, “Jesse”, is a
wonderful companion in our home and in the field. A grand daughter of Piram De Saint Tugen she is extremely
intelligent, birdy, and easy to handle. She
watches the sky and can tell the difference between a game bird and a bird of
prey (she growls at hawks when they fly over), but she is also smart enough not
to bother our chickens. We try to
hunt in Upper Peninsula Michigan every year. It’s a long drive but Jesse travels quietly in the front of the truck
patiently waiting for the hunt. When we arrive she is ready to go but never runs
off and leaves us. She covers the
ground tirelessly, and with beautiful style. Jesse has learned the grouse and their tricks.
If we miss the shot she will find the same bird again and
again and give us another shot. If
we don’t get our limit it sure isn’t her fault. Our hope as a breeder is to
produce puppies that make their owners as happy as she makes us.
